Rose G. Gould, born Rose Gertrude Black, 91, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on Sat., March 26, 2022. Rose was born and raised in Taunton, Massachusetts, the eighth of nine siblings. After high school she worked for the state of Massachusetts and married her sweetheart, (Randolph) Allen Gould. When asked, she would laugh and say she married him because he was a good dancer! Following the birth of her daughter, Bette-Jean, and son, Robert, Al and Rose moved to Florida. It was 1956. Rose would always tell people who asked about the move to Florida, “We weren’t born here, but we got here as soon as we could!” There were brief stays in Miami, Stuart, Dania, and Vero Beach, but they lived the longest time in the Fort Lauderdale area. Rose and Al welcomed another son, Barry, in 1965, sharing their love of boating, fishing, and camping with all three of their children and all their friends. Upon retiring in 1988, Rose and Al moved to the Dunnellon area spending their time founding the local Goldwing motorcycle group and volunteering for several local groups, including Seven Rivers Hospital and the Citrus County Sheriff’s Crime Watch. Rose was a founding member of Unity of Citrus County and an active member of Dunnellon Square HOA until 2017, as a board member and secretary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Randolph Allen “Al” Gould; son Robert Allen Gould; siblings William Black, Robert Black, Donald James Black, Dorothy Nason, Ruth Stafford, Helen Parenteau and Beverly Williams and a son-in-law, Brandon C. Nagele. Rose is survived by her children Bette Gould Nagele, Dunnellon, FL and Barry J. Gould, Clermont, FL; grandchildren Bethany Morales (Ken), Winter Garden, FL and Brian Nagele (Brandy), Ocala, FL; great grandchildren Trace and Ashely Nagele, both of Concord, NC and Sawyer Nagele, Ocala, FL, and brother George Black (Chris), Quincy, ILL as well as many loving nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. A memorial service will be held on Fri., April 22, 2022 at 11:00 AM from Unity of Citrus, 2628 W. Woodview Lane, Lecanto, FL 34461 with Rev Luz Lecour officiating.
