Robert Patey, son of Mary and the late Andrew Patey, a native of Rumson, New Jersey, and more recently a resident of Beverly Hills, FL, died at his home on Sunday, January 8, 2012. Robert, born August 16, 1966, was baptized, and received his sacraments at Holy Cross Church in Rumson. He attended Rumson Fair Haven Regional High School and graduated in the class of 1985. As a senior in high school, Robert led a master class in woodcarving, and upon graduation, was awarded a scholarship that he used to attend the Ward Foundation Carving Program in Salisbury, Maryland. As his career progressed, he worked in Massachusetts, Colorado and Florida as a finish carpenter. Reflective of his generous spirit, in 2006, following Hurricane Katrina, Robert volunteered and shared his expertise to assist in a reconstruction project in New Orleans. In addition to these talents, Robert was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, godfather, and friend. Robert leaves his mother Mary, two brothers, Drew and Michael, and three sisters, Beth, Laura, and Amy. Robert was godfather to Nora Patey and uncle to Renee and Ali, Jesse and Alex, Nora, and Jack. His family, friends, and Labrador, Pee Wee, will forever miss him. A memorial mass at 10am, on Monday, January 16th, will be celebrated by Reverend Ronald Marecki, Pastor, St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa, FL. Wilder Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
