Richard Michael "Rick" Wilcox

Richard Michael “Rick” Wilcox, 76, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Wed., December 21, 2022 at Largo Medical Center in Largo, Florida. A native of Toledo, Ohio, he was born November 20, 1946 to Gregory and Edna (Strachan) Wilcox. Rick, as he was known to many, enjoyed a long 33 year career as an over-the-road truck driver for Ace Hardware Corporation, retiring in January of 2007. Since retirement, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, golfing and following college sports. Rick was an avid fan of Duke University’s Blue Devils basketball, Coach K, and the University of Alabama’s Crimson Tide football team. He was also a member of the West Citrus Elks Lodge and the Crystal River Moose Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory Wilcox. Rick is survived by his loving wife Patricia Wilcox of Homosassa; daughter Rachel Wilcox of Maumee, Ohio; sisters-in-law Nancy Wilcox of Venice, Florida; Carol TenBrook (husband Robert) of Homosassa and Kathleen Blessing (husband Michael Bendert) of Ocala, Florida. A Memorial Service of Remembrance for Rick will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. from Wilder Funeral Home in Homosassa.
