Norma Ann Menzies

Norma Ann Menzies, 92, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Mon., Jan. 1, 2024 at Royal Dalton House Assisted Living in Homosassa. A native of Taunton, MA, Norma was born April 11, 1931 to Alfred and Anna (Marsden) Rose, one of two children. Mrs. Menzies was a retired receptionist for The Commonwealth of Massachusetts and moved to Homosassa in 1985 from her native Taunton and was a faithful and devoted parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa. Norma loved gardening, reading, knitting, and baking for her family. Her perfect day would revolve around spending as much time as possible with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, Colin John Menzies, on May 12, 2010; her son Barry Menzies; granddaughter Kara Ann and her brother, Alfred Rose. She is survived by her children: Paul Menzies (wife Kathy), Homosassa, FL; Colin M. “Mark” Menzies (Dale Boegler), Fort Myers, FL and son Andy Gatlin (wife Joyce), Jacksonville, FL; daughter-in-law Betsy Menzies, Taunton, MA; grandchildren Tami of Seekonk, MA; Ryan of Orlando, FL and Nicholas of Taunton, MA and great grandchildren Katerina, Gabriella, Penelope and Ezekiel, all of Seekonk, MA and Austin of Berkley, MA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wed., Jan. 10, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Homosassa with Msgr. Joseph Sobiesiak, Celebrant. Graveside service will be held on Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Taunton, MA under the direction of O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home of Taunton, MA.
