Mary Frances Durden, 73, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Fri., March 1, 2013 at her home. A native of Tampa, she was born Oct. 6, 1939 to Tommy and Geneva (Martin) Thompson, one of six children. Mrs. Durden moved here in 1995 from Port Richey, FL. Her professional career included bank management, most recently with Suntrust. She also spent over five years as secretary at her church, Grace Bible Church of Homosassa, FL. Mary loved the outdoors; she loved hunting and fishing, but was especially fond of kayaking our local waters and working in her gardens at home. She is survived by her husband of nearly 58 years, Alan L. Durden of Homosassa; son Charles Durden (wife Telana), Homosassa; daughter Debra Mitchell (husband Richard Lawhorn), Deltona, FL; daughter Sherry Walker, Homosassa; brothers John Thompson and Murray Carver, Jr., both of Tampa; sisters Elaine Carver, Roanoke, VA and Lyn Carver, Tampa; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service of Remembrance will be held on Mon., March 4, 2013 at Grace Bible Church, W. Green Acres Street, Homosassa at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ray Herriman officiating.
