Oct.4, 2013. Born in Forest Hill, Md. in 1922, he moved to Homosassa
Florida in 1977. Following education in Harford County, Md., Archer
graduated from Baltimore Business College. He served with the U.S. Marine Corps in the Pacific during WWII, and with the U.S. Army Reserves during peace time. As a civilian employee of the Dept. of Army, he retired after 35 years, with later years engaged as a contracting officer for research and development programs with industry.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emily. Archer leaves a daughter, Sandra Skoglund, of St. Augustine, Fl., a son Craig (Anne) of Westminster, Md. One grandchild, Peter (Vallery) Skoglund, of Palm Coast, Fl. and great grandchildren Walker and Chloe. He was preceded in death by daughter Jean Denton, Havre de Grace, Md. Archer was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa,Fl, a member of Sugarmill Woods Country Club, and an avid golfer and fisherman.
A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, Oct.12, 2013
