Kenneth R. Paxton, 75, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Sun., Oct. 16, 2022 at his home. A native of Greeneville, TN, he was born Sept. 18, 1947 to Gene and Helen (Voiles) Paxton, one of three children. Kenny, as he was known to many, served his country honorably and proudly in the United States Air Force for over eight years, ending his enlistment as a Staff Sergeant, after serving four tours in Vietnam. Kenny was a retired manufacturing supervisor and was a Free and Accepted Mason of the 32nd Degree, as well as a member of the Scottish Rite and the Eastern Star. Mr. Paxton was a member of the First Christian Church of Greeneville, where he had served as deacon for nine years. His perfect day would involve fishing and being outdoors. Mr. Paxton also loved bluegrass music and was so inspired, he bought a guitar and learned to play. One of Kenny’s favorite sayings was “They Can’t Take Away What We’ve Danced.” Kenny was a gifted and talented woodworker and taught woodworking at Miami High School in Miami, FL after his discharge from the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Paxton was preceded in death by his parents and his biological father, James P. Clemmer, and is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Jimmie D. Paxton of Homosassa, FL; daughter Jama Russell (husband Anthony), Bulls Gap, TN; siblings Terry Paxton (wife Jeannette), Moshiem, TN; Lynn Paxton (wife Barbara), New Market, TN and Jimmy Clemmer (wife Roxie), Glenwood, WA and grandchildren Brandon Estes, Russellville, TN and Makaylen Cutshall, Bulls Gap, TN, as well as an aunt, uncle, nieces and nephews. A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Mon., Oct. 31, 2022 from 5:30 to 7:30 PM at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, FL, where military honors will be rendered for SSGT Paxton at 6:00 P.M.
