Kathleen M. “Kay” Farr O’Mahony, 84, of Lecanto, passed away Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Hospice Unit of Citrus Memorial Hospital. A native of Monticello, Fla., she was born April 25, 1929, one of four children, and had lived in Citrus County since 1967. Kay, as she was known to many, was a lifelong waitress, bartender, hostess and server in a number of Citrus County landmarks, including the Yardarm Restaurant, Port Paradise, Tangerine Lounge and the Green Tavern. She fully retired in 2010 from Comfort Keepers Health Care. Mrs. O’Mahony is survived by her three children, Bruce Farr, Spring Hill, Marie Graham (husband Ronnie), High Springs and Patti Giordano (husband Ralph), Inverness; grandchildren, Bryan, Tabitha, Constance, Jessica, Austin, Morgan, Dylan, Leonard and Ralph Jr.; and great-grandchildren, Bryan, Jerek, Tori, Autumn, Phillip, Maggie, Joshua, Kari, Aneillo, Spencer and Lilly. Kay was preceded in death by two husbands, Edward Farr and William O’Mahony; and three siblings, Ernest, Mildred and Margaret.
A celebration of life service will be 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa. Interment is private. Friends will be received from 5 p.m., until time of service, www.wilderfuneral.com.
