With her husband, children, and family nearby, Katheryn “Kathy” Worthington, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2022. Kathy was 68 years old, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She dedicated her life to providing for her family by being employed as a life-long nurse, but Kathy’s family will remember her for her unconditional love, support, and welcoming arms. She was born June 17, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan to Stanley and Lois Hall (née Oliphant). She married her best friend, Richard Worthington, Jr., forty-eight years ago on April 13, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan and moved to Citrus County in 1980, which is where they raised their five children. Her children and grandchildren were her priority, and she rarely missed a single band competition, softball, soccer, or basketball game. Kathy was proud of her large family and the memories that were continuously made. Kathy is proceeded in death by her parents, Stanley Hall and Lois Spiess. She is survived by her husband; their five children, with five spouses; her sister; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews: husband, Richard Worthington Jr; children, Richard Worthington III and wife Eryn, David Worthington and wife Gretchen, Michael Worthington and wife Stacey, Kimberly Nichter and husband Darren, and Jennifer Bosley and husband Tom. Sister is Patricia Hall. Grandchildren are Zackary Bruns, Elle Downs, Madison Nichter, Anna Leone, Emma Worthington, and Leah Worthington. And her constant fur-companion is “Chase”. Memorial will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Wilder Funeral Home, 4890 South Suncoast Boulevard in Homosassa. Doors open at 1 p.m.
