John Dewart, 80, of Homosassa, FL, passed away at his home on Wed. Feb. 11, 2015. A native of Manchester, CT, he was born on Nov. 28, 1934 to John and Merle (Yellen) Dewart and he was one of three children. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956 and then began a career in the computer industry working for IBM. His career and interests were varied and included selling real estate, owning and operating a day care center for children and owning and operating a real estate construction company. He retired in 1996 from a management position with Northern Telecom, Nynex Meridian Systems of Rocky Hill, CT. His life long love of fishing and boating filled his retirement years and brought him to Homosassa, FL in 1996. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Homosassa. Mr. Dewart is survived by: his wife of 38 years, Sandra Dewart of Homosassa; four sons: John Scott Dewart (wife Andrea), Coventry, CT; Keith Dewart (wife Anne), Mansfield,CT; Vincent Reilly (and Danisha), Huntsville, AL and Troy Reilly (wife Wendy), New Gloucester, ME; and six grandchildren John Scott & Robert Dewart, Devin, Shealyn, Jacob and Morgan Reilly. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dewart was preceded in death by siblings Richard Dewart and Jacqueline Aliczi; brother-in-law, Edward Wild and uncle, Ronald Hall. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Homosassa on Mon., March 9, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Kip Younger officiating.
