Joan E. Holden, 71, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025. A native of Montgomery, Alabama, she was born August 7, 1953 to Robert and Doris (Nash) Miller, one of five children. Joanie, as she was known to many, was the Pastor of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Crystal River, Florida. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Religion from Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina and then her Master’s Degree in Theological Studies from Lutheran Southern Seminary in Columbia, South Carolina. Prior to beginning her advanced education endeavors, she served as Office Manager for Head and Neck Associates in Panama City, Florida and moved to Citrus County in 2015 from Panama City. Joanie loved to read and also enjoyed outdoor life activities. Her perfect day would be on the Alabama River as the sun came up fishing with her beloved husband, Randy. Pastor Holden is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving husband, PNCM Randy Dean Holden, USN (RET), Homosassa, Florida; daughter Angela Biletnikoff (husband Brian), Panama City, Florida; grandchildren Stefanie Myrick, Gregory, South Dakota and Don Stidham, Jr., Panama City, Florida; sisters Cathy Wolfe (husband Steven), Montgomery, Alabama and Susan Shoupe (husband Dale), Tuscaloosa, Alabama and brothers Scott Miller (wife Amanda), Mount Pleasant, North Carolina and Robert Miller (wife Debra), Homosassa, Florida. Celebration of Life Service will take place at St. Timothy Lutheran Church, 1070 N. Suncoast Blvd., Crystal River, FL 34429 on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions in Joanie’s name to St. Timothy Lutheran Church.
