It is with great sadness that the family of Jesse Hyde Jr announces his passing after a battle with cancer. Jesse was born in Brownton WV, the oldest child of Jesse Preston Hyde Sr and Eula Mae Pope. He grew up in Big Battle, Doddridge County WV. The family moved to Enterprise WV and he settled in Hepzibah, WV.
Husband and best friend of Lois; fondly remembered by his sons Lodis Hyde (Jeanne) and Nevin Hyde (Becky), and daughter Cindy Weymann; Mom Nellie Hyde; siblings Louetta McCobb (Dick), Mary Riley, Jim Hyde, Wilma VanOrder (Ivan), and Anne Laughlin and sisters-in-law Dawn Thompson and Heather Thompson; grandchildren Lodis Hyde (Destiny), Sidol Hyde, Rebecca Lanham (Jamie), Janet Oliver (Brian), Ryan Weymann (Ashleigh), Brandon Weymann, Jonathan Weymann, Sarah Holden (Nicholas) and Nicholas Laurel; and great grandchildren Geneva, Katie, Halle, Iszabella, David, Daniel, Emily, Layla, Cooper and Peyton. Predeceased by his parents, wife Evalena, Lucy Swiger (mother of Lodis and Nevin), brother Don Hyde and brother-in-law Bill Thompson.
As a young man Jesse worked in farming and logging. He joined the Army and was deployed to the war in Korea. Back in WV he operated heavy equipment for King Knob Coal. ran a salvage business among other things. He retired from the WV Department of Transport and moved to warmer weather in Homosassa FL. Jesse never met a stranger. He loved people and spoke to them about the love of God and his Savior Jesus Christ.
A Celebration of Life was held 12 December 2020 at the Homosassa Church of God, Pastor Nathan Gobble officiating.
