James P. Melia, 85, of Homosassa, passed away on Sat., March 9, 2013. A native of Detroit, MI, he was born Aug. 21, 1927 to Harry and Delia (Clifford) Melia, one of three children. Mr. Melia was a retired supervisor for 3M Corp. with 38 years of service, most recently with the Springfield, MO plant. He moved here in 1990 from Ft. Myers and was a parishioner of St. Thomas The Apostle Catholic Church, Homosassa and a U.S. Air Force veteran of WWII. Jim is survived by his wife of 59 years, Celia A. Melia of Homosassa; son Brian M. Melia, Springfield, MO; sister Mary Kaiser, Michigan and grandchildren Katie, Abbey and Samantha. Mr. Melia was preceded in death by a son, Glen Melia, in 1989 and a brother, Harry Melia. At Jim's request, a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
