Ingrid Lucia Alameda Ricci, 78, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at her home. A native of Havana, Cuba, she was born Dec. 13, 1942 to the late Dr. Jesus (Jay) C. Alameda and Hilda Amada Perez Alonso. Ingrid emigrated from her native Cuba to Peoria, IL in 1955 at the age of 13. Mrs. Ricci held a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, majoring in International Business, from University of New Haven in Connecticut. Her working life held two facets, as Ingrid was a research and development coordinator for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, Groton, CT for 24 years, but then also held a position as an educator and administrator for Dade County Schools in Florida. Ingrid was married for 45 years to her beloved husband, Donato Anthony Ricci, who survives her. They raised their family in Noank, CT before moving to N. Miami Beach and finally settling in Homosassa, FL in 2011. Ingrid was a tirelessly generous person, who gave her love and heart to her family and community. Her energy was infectious, and time spent with her was an adventure, usually accompanied with outstanding food. She embraced every pursuit with authenticity and passion. She possessed an indefatigable thirst for knowledge, and was always seeking ways to improve herself and her surroundings. In addition to her husband Donato, she is survived by her four children: Guy Ricci, New London, CT; Mark Quinn, Seattle, WA; Mary Ricci Franklin (husband Lynn), Jackson, GA and Kathleen Quinn Cruz (husband Vincent), Vista, CA; sisters Aida Gonzalez (husband Rudy), St. Petersburg, FL and Maria Waite (husband John), Ascutney, VT; grandchildren Tara Ross (husband Felton), Jackson, GA and Sean Franklin, Ft. Collins, CO and great grandson Lucas James Ross, Jackson, GA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thurs., June 10, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Benedict Catholic Church, 455 S. Suncoast Blvd., Crystal River, FL 34428 with Fr. Richard Stradomski, Celebrant. Inurnment will follow on Fri., June 11, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
