Helen F. Dowell

Helen F. Dowell, 85 of Homosassa, died peacefully in her sleep on Thursday July 21, 2011. Born in LaFollette, TN on September 16, 1925 to the late Robert Lincoln and Carrie Belle (Vinsant) Jones, Helen was raised in LaFollette TN and resided in Dayton, OH. She retired April 18, 1989 after 30 years of service at Inland Division of the GM Corporation. Helen moved to Homosassa in July of 2008 and was of the Baptist faith.

She is preceded in death by her husband Charles G. Dowell; son, Delford L. Dowell; brothers, Rosco, Charlie, William “Dee”, Harvey L. and Howard Jones; and sisters, Ethel Baird, Francis Sampson, Georgia Mae Tingler, Sue Moates and Edith Shipwash. Helen is survived by daughter Judy F. Stevens and son-in-law Kenneth of Homosassa, FL; sisters, Jean Williams, Bonnie Ivey and Judy Housley all of TN.; grandchildren, Rick Ammon of Murphy, NC., Aaron Fullenkamp and wife Bonni of Homosassa, Fl., Machell and husband Shayne Carberry of Middletown, OH and DeLona and husband Jamall Cook of Liberty Township, OH.; 6 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, August 5th from 12 pm to 2 pm with a service to follow at the Martin Funeral Home North Chapel in Dayton, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Dayton Memorial Park.
