Harry M. Bailey, 88, of Homosassa, FL, passed away on Thurs., Dec. 18, 2015 at Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast Hospice House in Lecanto, FL. A native of Mount Vernon, IL, he was born Jan. 15, 1927 to William and Beulah Bailey, one of four children. Mr. Bailey served his country from 1944 to 1953 in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, and U.S. Air Force and was a lifelong industrial diesel mechanic. His profession carried him to a number of places in the world, including Peru and multiple assignments in Alaska. He moved to Citrus County in 1971 from Reno, NV and permanently retired in 1975 while on an assignment in Prudhoe Bay, AK. He was a member of American Legion Post #155 and also a Life Member of VFW Post #8189. Harry is survived by his daughters Claudia Veltman (husband Kenneth) of Lecanto, FL and Roseann Krzywda (husband Michael) of Michigan; brother David Bailey of Kansas and granddaughter Kasey Veltman, Lecanto, FL. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of nearly 28 years, Doris Bailey, on Dec. 5, 1994 and two siblings, Parker Bailey and Ida O'Nan. Friends will be received on Wed., Dec. 30, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, where a chapel service will commence at 12:00 Noon.
