Florence L. “Louise” Denby, 93, of Crystal River, Florida, passed away on Tues., March 28, 2023 at her home. A native of Benson Junction, Florida, she was born March 11, 1930 to Edward and Pauline (Osteen) Cunningham, one of three children. Louise, as she was known to everyone, moved to Crystal River in 1982 from Clearwater, Florida when her late husband of 61 years, Franklin E. “Toby” Denby, accepted the position of Plant Manager at the Florida Power Plant Units 1 & 2. She loved riding motorcycles and camping with her beloved husband and friends. They enjoyed traveling all over the United States. She enjoyed looking at the clouds, flowers, horses and cows. In her younger years she loved riding horses and smelling the horses in the barn. She was happiest around her good friends and family eating and Louise especially enjoyed her ice cream. Louise was a faithful and devoted member of Red Level Baptist Church in Crystal River. In addition to her parents and her loving husband Toby, who passed away on May 3, 2016, Louise was preceded in death by a brother, Edward L. Cunningham, Jr (formerly of Enterprise, Florida). She is survived by her sister, Jean Marie Bernosky (husband Bob) of Pea Ridge, Arkansas and her dear friends and caregivers, Fran and Lee McCalla of Hernando, Florida. Friends will be received on Mon., April 10, 2023 from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida, where a Celebration of Life will commence at 11:30 AM with Brother Phillip Thompson of Red Level Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida. A special thank you is extended to her in-home caregivers of the Hopes & Dreams Agency. www.wilderfuneral.com
