David F. Smallwood, 74, of Homosassa, Florida, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at Sugarmill Manor Assisted Living in Homosassa. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he was born October 5, 1943 to Albert and Wilma (Nieman) Smallwood, one of three children. David was a retired tour bus driver for Lenzner Coaches in his native Pittsburgh area, which later became Coach USA, a position he held for many years. Mr. Smallwood was a Free and Accepted Mason in Pennsylvania and moved to Homosassa 12 years ago from his native Pittsburgh and was of the Presbyterian faith. David is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 34 years, Mary A. Smallwood, Homosassa, FL; son John P. Smallwood, Pittsburgh, PA; stepdaughters Deborah Clark (husband Andy), Crafton, PA and Diane Shaffer, Pittsburgh, PA; brother Albert Smallwood, Pittsburgh, PA and nine grandchildren. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by son David Smallwood, stepson Duane Shaffer, and brother Robert Smallwood. Friends will be received on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. at Wilder Funeral Home, Homosassa, Florida, where a chapel service will take place at 2:30 P.M. with Dr. Paul Hall, Sr. of Hospice of Citrus and the Nature Coast officiating.
