Betty J. Smith Crump passed away February 08, 2020 at the age of 86. She was born to Emory I. and Amy L. Kelly Smith in Toccoa, Georgia on May 06, 1933. Betty moved to FL after marrying and spent most of her life in Citrus County, FL until retiring from the Citrus County School System in 1995 as a bus driver and teacher's aide for special needs children. After retiring she lived in Lucedale, MS until her move back to FL in May of 2019 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Betty loved watching hummingbirds and always had several feeders out in the spring and summer to attract as many as possible. She grew amazing amaryllis, daylilies and roses. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed. She leaves to cherish her memory sons John E. (Darlene) Crump of Lecanto, FL, Kenneth S. Crump of Spring Hill, FL, daughters Kathy L. (Jack) McLeod of Lucedale, MS, Tammie A. Fults of Holder, FL, brother Kenneth (Loyce) Smith of Cornelia, GA. Grandchildren Pamela (Mike) Jenkins, Jeremy (Hilary) McLeod, Michael (Angelina) Crump, Ethan (Heather) Crump, Jake (Lida) Crump, Kaitlin (Sam) Shuttleworth. Great grandchildren Logan Crump, Ryleigh Crump, Sadie Shuttleworth, Emma Shuttleworth and Mason Crump. She was preceeded in death by her parents, brothers Charles E. Smith, John Smith, sister Doris A. Smith Pitts. A memorial service for the spreading of her ashes in the Great Smoky Mountains that she so loved all her life is being planned for a later date.
