William Alexander Dow, Jr. (Will) age 40 passed away on December 15, 2024, to meet our Lord and is no longer constrained by the burdens and illnesses of life. Will was a lifelong resident of Birmingham where he was active at Covenant Presbyterian Church, soccer and scouting where he obtained the rank of Eagle Scout.
He graduated from Mountain Brook High School and then went on to attend Auburn University where he graduated with a degree in Finance. After working at Harbert Management Corporation for several years, he went on to Wake Forest University where he was a Deans Scholar and obtained his MBA. Will loved his career in financial analytics and putting all the pieces together to help businesses thrive.
Will was always known for his love of music and his close friends. Will never met a stranger and had a contagious humor and love for life. He was very inquisitive and wanted to talk about everything. As a small child we would often have to say “Will, our ears are getting tired so can we just be quiet for a little bit!” Those closest to him knew if they wanted information, just ask Will. He would get you more information than you ever wanted to know, and usually had you regretting you ever asked. When Will walked into the room, he brought humor, his amazing dry wit, and usually left everyone in laughter.
Will is survived by his parents, Denise and William Dow; his daughter, Cornelia Ruth Dow (Neal), and his siblings, Kareth Dow Ferguson (Steve) and Benjamin Dow (Hannah).
Will valued family above everything else. The greatest love of his life though was his daughter Neal, who was his pride and joy.
There will be a private service for family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Will’s memory (and to honor his mother) to support the UAB Brain Aging and Memory program and, mailed to UAB Gift Records, AB 1230, 1720 2nd Ave. South, Birmingham, Al. 35294.
