William “Bill” R. Smith, age 85 passed on August 31, 2015. He was born February 28, 1930 to George and Nena Smith. He graduated from Auburn University in 1957 and retired from Disability Determination Service in 1995.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Nell Smith of Birmingham, Alabama; daughters: Tracy Harbuck(Tom) of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Carol Ashbaugh(David) of Alabaster, Alabama; granddaughter: Emily Harbuck of Fayetteville, Arkansas; grandsons: Alex Harbuck of Little Rock, Arkansas and Spenser Ashbaugh of Alabaster, Alabama.
Funeral service is Thursday, September 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridout’s Valley Chapel with a reception honoring Bill to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Bill to the Alzheimer’s Association.
