On May 5th, William (Bill) Morris Freeman, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend was taken into the arms of Jesus at the age of 64. Bill was born in Anniston, Alabama, grew up in Homewood, graduated from Homewood High School in 1977, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Alabama, and has called Trussville his home for 20 years. Bill was loved dearly by many. While there is great sadness and emptiness we can have sweet joy knowing he is with our eternal Father.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, and friend, enjoyed a brotherhood with Heroes Martial Arts Academy, and loved photography.
Bill leaves behind his wife, Christy Freeman; daughter, Sophie Haris Freeman; sister, Carolyn Maddox (Richard); niece, Ashley Russell (Matt); nephew, Brody Thompson; uncle, James Hubbard and aunt, Jane Hubbard; many cousins and his Border Collie, Sam.
Bill is preceded in death by his father, Morris Freeman and mother, Locklyn Redmond.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, May 10th at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, Al 35209 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm followed by a funeral service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A graveside service will follow immediately at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville, Al. In lieu of flowers, we instead request that donations be made to Children’s Harbor at www.childrensharbor.com.
Pallbearers are Barry Dobbins, Chris Mize, Clayton Davie, Skip Taylor, David Glasscock, David Wilson, and Dusty Johnson. Pallbearers from Heroes Martial Arts Academy include Robby Eaton, Chris Bowlin, Hewes Hull, Brad Gosdin, Gabe Hulbert, Bradley Thomas, Nathan Howard, Tom Stroud, Mitch Bruhn, Brian Nichols, Jason Norris, Jeff King, Ben McGrath, Michael McGrath, Aaron Shapiro, and Steve Brown. Services are under the direction of Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.
