He served in the navy during the Korean Conflict on the USS Dehaven and was part of the Battle of Inchon. Warren graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University. He had a distinguished career in the insurance industry. He held executive positions and was most proud of his role in developing talent for future leaders. He was known for telling new hires that if you could help the company meet goals and objectives he would help with their careers and he did.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Laura Core, brother Charles Core, and son, Greg Core.
Warren is survived by his wife, Linda and children Craig Core (Georgia) and Michael Eatly (Sara); five grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Warren had a good since of humor, generous and enjoyed golf, travel and attending the Kentucky Derby.
Visitation will be Monday, October 4, 2021 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am with Mass following at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church. A private burial will be scheduled at a later date at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
