Born on September 25, 1942 in Florida, he was the son of Ivy James and Myrtle Allyne Hood James. Wallace was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Homewood along with his wife who passed away in December 2023. He retired from the banking industry after many years of service and then worked for Trane Air Conditioning. He and his wife, Antoinette, loved to spend time together and especially loved visiting the casinos.
Wallace was preceded in death by his parents; by his niece, Kimberly Ruth Williams; and by his wife of 55 years, Antoinette Scarpulla James. He is survived by his sister, Marilyn James Williams and by a host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation on Monday, April 22nd from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church located at 1728 Oxmoor Road in Homewood. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be offered at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church where Fr. Bob Sullivan, Pastor, will celebrate. Burial will immediately follow via escorted cortege in Birmingham’s historic Elmwood Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Ridout’s Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood.
