Stanley "Sandy" William Newman II

Sandy was born in Mobile, AL to the late Anna Belle Little Newman and the late William E. Newman, Sr. on February 12, 1954. He was a graduate of Murphy High School and a graduate of The University of Alabama where he was a member of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Upon graduation he had a lifetime career in accounting.

Sandy had a passion for Alabama football, fishing, boating, hunting, and spending much time throughout his lifetime being on Mobile Bay. He will always be remembered for his incredibly quick wit, dry humor, and endless funny stories spent with his friends and family.

Sandy is survived by his wife, Katheryn Marable Newman; stepson, Morgan Jackson Cooke, Dallas, TX; daughters Nethery Louise Newman of New Orleans, LA and Margaret Little McGuffee of Gulfport, MS; brother William (Bill) E. Newman, Jr (Patty) of Pensacola, FL; sisters Dr. Cecelia (Cissy) King of Fairhope, AL and Nancy Newman of Mobile, AL; brother-in-law John Jackson (JJ) Marable (Missy) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Grace.

Funeral service will be at 2:30 pm, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at St. Peter's Anglican Church 3207 Montevallo Road Mt. Brook, AL 35223 with burial afterwards at Elmwood Cemetery. The Rev. Bryan White officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the DKE pledge class of 1975.
