Shirley Rhodes age 85 was a resident of the Birmingham area. She was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. Shirley was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed traveling and being with family members. She is preceded in death by her husband Murray D. Rhodes. Survivors include her daughters Mrs. Sharon Shaw and Mrs. Sandra Harden, 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, sister Mrs. Beverly Lucas, and brother Reginald Mardis. Visitation at 10am Tuesday May 9th with service at 11am, at Ridout's Valley Chapel Homewood. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to Alzheimer's of Central Alabama, 300 Office Park Dr, Ste 225, Birmingham, AL 35223 -
