Ricky was born July 5th, 1957, in Columbus Ga.
He attended Dallas County High School in Plantersville Ga and later studied at Wallace Community College in Selma, Al. and Birmingham Southern College.
He spent many years in the Beauty Industry and had recently started his own business.
Ricky loved his Family and Friends, Alabama Football, and had a passion for music. Ricky loved to sing for people and used his beautiful voice for happy and sad occasions. Ricky also had a passion for animals and loved his dogs as his children. Ricky was often the first person to show up when needed, He was kind and generous. He was also so much Fun! He always had a joke or prank up his sleeve and would spend much time with friends having a good laugh.
Ricky is survived by his brother Ken and Ken’s wife Beth Melton.
He was proceeded in death by his Father William Melton; His Mother Nellie Mae Atchison Melton; and his Nieces Brooke and Rachel Melton.
Ricky had said that he wanted a celebration service, for people to come together and remember the good times.
Arrangements are with Rideout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood Al.
