Patricia Norman

Dr. Patricia Foley Norman, age 90, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2021 at her home. Pat was born August 2, 1930, and spent her early years in Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama, where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority, and went on to graduate from the University of Alabama- Birmingham Medical School in 1956.

Dr. Norman had a long and distinguished career in anesthesiology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Her specialty was obstetrical anesthesiology. She was well respected by her colleagues and by those she taught. She was an excellent instructor to students throughout her time at UMMC. After she and her husband Dr. Joseph R. Norman retired, they made their home in Mountain Brook in 2002.

Pat's dry wit, intelligence, and fierce determination will be sorely missed.

Dr. Norman is predeceased by her husband, Joseph Robert Norman, her son Robert Foley Norman, and her daughter Melissa Drummond Norman. She is survived by her grandsons, Jackson Foley Norman and Charlie David Norman, both of Westport Connecticut.
