Ottis McCay Patterson (Pat) went to be with her Heavenly Father Saturday, February 28, 2015. During her 95 years she lead a blessed life. Ottis was born September 8,1919 in Blount County, Alabama. She is also preceded in death by her son, Kline, her husband Grady, and her daughter Cay Braswell. Ottis was one of eleven children. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Willie Belle, Bernice, Retha, Lennie, and Jewel as well as her brothers Wink, Webb, and Buddy. Ottis is survived by her brothers Man McCay and Sam McCay. She is also survived by her son, Frank Patterson (Carol Anne). She leaves her grandchildren Amy Stuckey (Jason), Frank Patterson Jr. (Candice), Tim Braswell (Heather), Grayson Lewis (Susan), and Christie Harang (Dennis). Ottis also leaves 13 great grandchildren Julia, Joe and Jacob Stuckey, Brooks, John Thomas, and Harper Braswell, Sawyer, Pierce, Kate, and Claire Patterson, Cassia McKay, Hayden and Hartley Harang. The family also acknowledges her loving nieces Carolyn, Betty Jean and Karla. Ottis was a member of Dawson Baptist church. She was a ship welder in WWII. Ottis had many occupations and lots of hobbies. She was a Real Estate Broker, a beautician, and a homemaker. Mrs. Patterson along with her husband Grady and the Wilder family founded Patterson and Wilder Construction Company. Ottis was an avid golfer, loved to travel, work in her garden, cook and knit. She loved to watch Alabama football and Braves baseball.
Visitation will be March 2nd, at 11:00am with a service to follow @ 12:00pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Rd., Homewood, Alabama. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at Pine Bluff Cemetery in Locust Fort, Alabama. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to The Children's Hospital of Birmingham, Alabama.
