Michael Alan Haltiwanger of Cahaba Heights passed away peacefully on Wednesday, the 9th of June 2021. He loved life, was a huge Alabama Football fan and had the best sense of humor. He was 67 years of age.
Born the son of Dalmous H. Haltiwanger and JoAnn Potts Haltiwanger, he graduated from Homewood High School and attended the University of Montevallo. A member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mike spent many years traveling for work before owning and operating his own lawn care company.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dal Haltiwanger and is survived by his three children, Elizabeth Merrill, Jennifer Chapman, and Joe Haltiwanger (Nicole); mother, JoAnn Haltiwanger; and sister, Sherri Haltiwanger. Mike is also survived by his six grandchildren, Jackson, Madolyn, Aubry, Abbie, Brooke, and Avery; niece, Nicole Brooke; nephew, Michael Portera; and by Cat, the cat.
Friends are cordially invited to the visitation on Sunday, the 13th of June, from four o’clock in the afternoon until six o’clock in the evening at Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood. Funeral services will commence at eleven o’clock in the morning on Monday, the 14th of June at Ridout’s Valley Chapel with burial immediately following, via escorted cortege, in Croft Acton Cemetery.
Mike loved his family and his family loved him. His grandchildren brought an infectious smile to his face whenever he saw them. He will be truly missed by his family and many friends.
