Mackenzie “Kenzie” Meredith Baldwin-Burgess, age 40, of Homewood, AL passed away on May 21, 2021. She was born in Wallingford, VT on January 10, 1981. She attended Tallassee High School where she played trumpet in the band and short stop on the softball team. Kenzie later attended Faulkner University on a full athletic scholarship to play softball. She graduated with a degree in psychology. She went on to work with many children and adults who have special needs. Kenzie loved Auburn football, college softball and the Boston Red Sox. She also loved watching movies (especially with her brother), big dogs, pickles and pickle juice. She had a extreme sense of humor and especially loved giving her wife a good startle.
Kenzie is survived by her loving wife, Anne Baldwin-Burgess and by their daughter, Isabel (4) and son, Maven (14). She is also survived by her mother, Debra (Deb) Burgess of Fertile, MN and younger brother, Bryce Burgess of Seattle, WA. She had a very close bond with speaking at least once a day to her mother on the phone. Kenzie and her brother loved playing video games together as a way to close their distance from each other. She adored her mother and brother. She was Pre deceased by her father, Jeffrey Burgess whom she loved talking sports with.
