Lisa Dean Cook, (Born March 23, 1962, Died November 6, 2021) stepped into the arms of her savior Jesus Christ at home. Lisa brought joy and happiness to all who encountered her and leaves a family and friends grieving yet still comforted by memories of her joyous presence.
Lisa graduated from Scottsboro High School in Scottsboro, Alabama, and completed Associates Degree at Hillsborough Community College in Florida while working full time. Lisa pursued a career in sales until she suffered a stroke at the age of thirty-four. She worked hard with a speech therapist until she learned to read again and improve her communications skills. She was also left with partial blindness on her right side. She took all this in stride with a deep faith in Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior. She was a member of The Church of the Highlands and read her Bible every day. She enjoyed working out, billiards, Alabama Football, and was Dallas Cowboys fan. Lisa was artistic and loved to dance.
Lisa was preceded in death by her grandparents Solon and Norma Cook, Charles and Paula Busby, and Porter and Ozell Westmoreland. Lisa is survived by her parents Solon Wade Cook, Anita Westmoreland Cook, and Jean Ann Wray, brothers Brad Cook (Shari), Jeff Cook, and Toby Eddy (Jeannie), sisters Lisa Stewart (John) and Denise Edris (Scott). Lisa leaves a host of nieces and nephews, and friends, including Jaxon Cook with whom she had a special relationship.
A visitation for Lisa will be held Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209, followed by a memorial service from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
