Laura Emma Scott Patton

PATTON, LAURA EMMA “L.E.”went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2012. She was born in Alexander City, AL and worked in Birmingham, AL as Director of Play Therapy at Children’s Hospital and, later, Wish Coordinator for Magic Moments. She was a member of Canterbury United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by husband Robert G. Patton and son J. Michael Patton; brother Paul Scott, sister Mary Frances Swanson. She is survived by brothers Edwin Scott and Jim Scott; children Dr. Robert C. Patton (Barbara), Patricia P. Day (Frank), and Thomas L. Patton (Tracy); grandchildren Dr. Michael Patton (Amy), Richard Patton, Forest Patton, J. Frank Day IV (Jennifer), Matthew Day (Kristina), Mary Laura Day, Lee Patton, Hayden Patton, Courtney Patton; and nine great grandchildren. She blessed lives of others with her laughter and caring heart. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 17, 5-7pm at Ridout’s Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209. Graveside service will take place Wednesday, January 18, 1:30pm at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Magic Moments, 1600 7th Avenue South, Birmingham, AL 35233.
