

Kenneth Wayne Howard, age 70 of Vestavia Hill, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021. He was raised in Cahaba heights, where he still remains friends with man. He attended Shades Valley High School and University of Alabama in Birmingham. He entered the United State Army and was a combat Veteran and proud member of the 10th U.S. Cavalry serving in Vietnam. Upon his return, he began working at Alabama Outdoor Advertising as a pictorial artist and later Art Director. He retired from 3M National Outdoor Advertising in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon his retirement he and Tricia decided to move to Riverwood Hunting and Fishing a community on the Warrior River. His hobbies included being an avid Ham Radio operator W4VOK and member of several ham clubs. His love of motorcycles brought him into the Combat Veteran Motorcycle Associations (Hambone) 28-5, a loyal member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and a member of the American Legion VFW. With his love of photography and art he was able to help veterans in Art Therapy group. He also served is community as a volunteer Jefferson County Sheriff's deputy. Ken will be missed by all who loved this amazing talented man.
Ken is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Patricia Whitfield Howard, son Chris Howard, grandsons: Cole and Drake Howard, brothers Bob Howard his wife Fayetta Howard, Jerry P. Howard and sister in law Barbara Howard.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo, AL on Thursday, 28th of January 2021 beginning at 1:15 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in honor of Kenneth Howard should be made to your favorite military charity.
