Hagood and Mulree Hagood. She was double-promoted in elementary school and graduated
from Mortimer Jordan High School the same year as her older brother, Neal. Her academic
achievement of salutatorian was second only to big brother Neal, who was valedictorian. She

young attorney and future husband, William A. Thompson, Jr. She was a sacrificial soul, raising
2 sons and 4 grandsons, and helped her husband to the rank of Lt Colonel and State Circuit
Court judge. She was widowed way too young, but kept busy with family, friends, yardwork,
voracious reading, Southside Baptist Church, bridge, and compulsive frugality. She spent her
final years meeting her two sons every Saturday for Cuban sandwiches at Kool Korners. She
passed away peacefully at Town Village, where she created numerous later in life friendships.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Alexander Thompson Jr.
She is survived by her two sons William Alexander Thompson III (Laurie) and Robert Neal
Thompson (Ashley), and four grandsons- Alex, Griffin, Graham (Ashley), and Bennett.
