ZARZOUR, JEAN BAKER, of Birmingham went to be with her Heavenly Father on April 15th, 2011. The daughter of Peyton Robinson Baker and Sarah Lou Baker, Ms. Zarzour was born on Nov. 7, 1921. She was preceded in death by son H.W. Peerson (Marie). She is survived by sons George David Zarzour and Peyton Baker Zarzour (Ann), grandchildren Walker Peerson (Jamie), Graham Peerson (Terri), Charles Peerson (Sarah), John Peerson (Kathleen), Julie Carpenter (Austin), Heather Argent (David), Jonathan Zarzour, Neal Zarzour (Jessica), Barton Zarzour (Amy), Ashley Haynes (Brandon), and Hannah Zarzour, along with her thirteen great-grandchildren. Ms. Zarzour worked at UAB Hospital's Division of Orthopedic Surgery as administrative assistant to the late Dr. Kurt Neimann for nearly thirty years. There, she employed her strength and determination to help guide countless resident physicians through their training, and to assist patients during the healing process. After retiring, she enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Those who knew Jean will remember her independence, strength, wit, and generosity. She will be greatly missed. Services will be held at John Ridout's Valley Chapel on Oxmoor Road in Homewood. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 3:00 PM with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday evening April 18,2011 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Valley Chapel. >
