Jane White Malone (nee Eleanor Jane White) died on February 26, 2014 in Birmingham, Alabama. Jane was born in Louisville, Kentucky on August 4, 1920 to William Collins White, Sr. and Louise Cruse White. She was raised in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Sacred Heart School. Jane was an outgoing young lady who participated in her high school sorority and was popular among her peers.
Jane married James Comer Malone, Jr. in 1942. The couple moved to Birmingham, Alabama in 1950, where Jane was active in her community. She belonged to several philanthropic and social clubs including Civiettes, Daughters of the American Revolution, Montcrest Garden Club, Mountain Brook Club and The Club. Jane was also a longtime member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.
Jane was a generous woman who always had a story to share. Her cheerful smile and infectious laugh brightened up any gathering she attended. She enjoyed collecting antiques but her favorite pastime by far was spending time with and doting on her family.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband James Comer Malone, Jr., her brother William White, Jr. and her sister Louise McLellan. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her son, James Comer Malone, III (Harriet); sister, Marilyn Greene; granddaughters, Jane Malone Stefanowicz (Eric) and Elizabeth Malone Casement (Michael); and great-grand-children, Allison Hope Stefanowicz and Eric Michael Stefanowicz, Jr. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Friday, February 28 at 10:00am with the Funeral Mass following at 11:00am. A luncheon will follow at St. Francis Xavier. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Marianna Greene Henry Special Equestrians Program, PO Box 698, Talladega, AL 35161.
