James W. "Mo" Robbins, 79, of Hoover, AL passed away on May 9th, 2017. He was born in Birmingham, AL on July 23rd, 1937. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Howell Robbins and Brownie Robbins, his brother Tommy Manley and his sister, Linda Ring and his childhood friend Judge Charles Crowder. He married Martha Ann Turner on October 28th, 1956. He graduated from Howard College (Samford University) in 1959 and graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1961 with a masters in Public Health Administration. He worked for Balfour-Taylor Yearbook Publishing Company for 58 years. He was president of Jim Robbins, Inc. He was a people person and never met a stranger! He was a Shriner with the Zamora Temple. He loved golf and the Alabama Crimson Tide He was compassionate and anomalously helped others. He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 plus years. Two sons, James W. Robbins, Jr. "Woody" and Joseph H. Robbins, II "Joe". Granddaughter Casey Ann Robbins. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Frances Greene and dozens of nieces and nephews too numerous to name.
Family will receive friends and family Saturday May 13th 11:00am till 1:00 pm with the service starting at 1:00 pm at Liberty Park Baptist Church, Vestavia Hills. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery for those who would like to attend
