SGM James Patrick Maddox, age 85, passed away on February 19, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents James Lester Maddox and Annie Gail Edgeworth Maddox; sister Amanda Lee Maddox; grandparents Patrick Edgeworth and Addie Lee Livington Edgeworth, and Archie Maddox and Lovie Sanford Maddox.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Helen Denise Maddox; brother Robert Donald Maddox (Patsy).
His professional career consisted of 43 years U.S. Army active and reserve, Amsouth Bank and Compass Bank.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am with a service to follow at Ridout's Valley Chapel in Homewood. Burial will conclude at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with full honors.
