Gloria Regina (Levio) Minor, age 74, formerly of Mountain Brook, went to Jesus peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, June 3, 2020. A private honoring was held Friday, June 12 at Rideout’s Valley Chapel followed by a private family burial at Elmwood Cemetary. Gloria graduated from Shades Valley High School and Samford University, with a psychology major and speech minor. In her young life, she used her many skills and beautiful voice in theater. She brought a spirit of worship and prayer to Lurleen Wallace‘s Gubernatorial Inauguration by singing the Lord’s Prayer. At birth her name, Gloria Regina, was selected from a dual language prayer book. From mid-life on, through many trials she became a mighty woman of prayer. She courageously fought a battle against a deadly and debilitating illness, multiple sclerosis - a battle she ultimately won by dying of natural causes. Gloria’s great love in life was her children. She is survived by her daughter, Ida Regina Minor of Virginia, and her son, John William Minor IV (Emeline) of California. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the United States National Prayer Council or Saint Francis Xavier Church.
