Gerald Carl Gibbons

Gerald C. Gibbons, age 73 of Hoover, passed away on June 30, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Gibbons was born in Tampa, Florida on January 5, 1945 to the Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Gibbons. He graduated from University Military School, Marion Institute and Florida State University. Mr. Gibbons enjoyed a long and successful career in the food service industry including owning his own restaurant in Mobile and as Food Service Director at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, FL. Mr. Gibbons is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Rebecca L. Gibbons, two sons Gerald C. Gibbons, Jr., and John A. Gibbons, a daughter Catherine G. Dorough and husband Christopher Dorough and a granddaughter Lily Dorough. He is also survived by his brother Michael Gibbons and wife Vivian and his nieces Jennifer Love and husband John and Angela Strickland her husband Mark, and great nephews Carter Love and Wells Strickland. The family will have a private funeral service on July 9, 2018 at Ridout's Valley Chapel with the Rev. Jennifer Riddle officiating.
