Gerald Kirby Blow

Gerald Kirby Blow better known as Kirby passed away peacefully on November 18th, 2021 due to the spread of cancer form his colon to his esophagus. Kirby was born November 24th, 1954 in Cahaba Heights, AL worked many years for SMI Steel as well as a contracted painter most of his life. Kirby’s hobbies included spending time with family & friends, driving across the United Staes, and catching Alabama games on Saturdays during the fall. As he would say ROLL TIDE ROLL! Kirby was a complex man with a big heart that loved his family tenfold. In order to understand him you would have had to know him personally. His laughter could fill a room, his smile would warm your heart, but watch out that smile might also mean he was up to something. Johnson, Daughter: Amethyst R. Blow, Sister: Pamela (Jo) Beeson, Brother-in-law: William Beeson, Nephews: William A. Beeson, Nicholas A. Beeson, Niece: Ashley N. Beeson, Aunts: Nelda E. Shifflett, Rhonda T. Brasher, Uncles: Tommy Thompson, Jere Thompson, Cousins: Mark Shifflett, Mark Shifflet Jr., Brittney Lankford, James (Jimmy) Campbell, Robbie Rives, Robert (Bobby) Blow, Caregivers: Teressa & Randal (Randy) Eades. Viewing 12 P.M. and Service 1 P.M. will be at Rideout’s Valley Chapel on 1800 Oxmoor Rd, Homewood AL 35209. Burial service to follow at Cahaba Heights Baptist Church 3800 Crosshaven Dr, Vestavia Hills, AL 35243. In closing Kirby’s family want to thank everyone for their encouragement, prayer, and love we saw God’s love pouring out of y’all and on him and his family. A visitation for Gerald will be held Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood, AL 35209, followed by a funeral service from 1:00 PM.
