Born on December 31, 1928 in Cleveland AL, she was the daughter of the late George C. Deaver and Alpha Holt Deaver. She was formerly employed at TCI and was retired from Parisian Department Stores. Mrs. Adams was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church and was also an Alter Server.
Survivors include her daughter: Cindy Smith and her husband Bob of Hartwell; a son: Joey Adams of Hoover AL; two grandchildren: Heather Adams and Patrick Adams; a sister-in-law: Jackie Deaver of Pinson AL and a brother-in-law: Bob Adams and his wife Margaret of Asheville NC. Mrs. Adams was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years: John Joseph “Johnny” Adams, whom she married in 1950; three brothers: Ernest Deaver, Earl Deaver, and Kelly Deaver and a sister: Esma Jones.
A funeral mass celebrating Geneva’s life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Ridout’s Valley Chapel Funeral Home, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood AL. Burial will be in the Elmwood Cemetery, Birmingham AL.
The body is at the Ridout’s Valley Chapel Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hart Co. Humane Society, PO Box 1062, Hartwell GA 30643 or Hart Co. Animal Rescue, PO Box 45, Hartwell GA 30643.
