Flora Eiland Simpson

Flora Simpson (95) passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton, Alabama, after an extended illness. Mrs. Simpson was born on 12/3/1920, along with her twin sister, Annie. She had 3 brother and 3 sisters. She lived a large portion of her life in Wylam and attended Wylam First Baptist Church. She lived for many years in the Homewood and Vestavia area, and was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church for most of those years.

Mrs. Simpson retired from the Alabama Power Company after many years of faithful service. She was a secretary in the President’s office when she retired and was very proud of her tenure there.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by her two children, Sylvia Arnold (Glen), Richard Simpson, and her brother, Ben Eiland (Mary). She is also survived by grandchildren, Shirley Chumley (Rusty), Mike Seale (Kim), Stephen Simpson, and Christina Simpson, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
