Evan was preceded in death by his father, Mark Tubbs and is survived by his mother, Angela Lee; sister, Anna T. Kaylor (Stephen); aunt and uncle, Paula and Mickey Osborn; and by his niece, Layla Johnson.
A 2004 graduate of Homewood High School, Evan had a great sense of humor and could make anyone smile. His laugh was addictive and he was kind to all he met. Evan was one of the most talented music producers and DJ artists and was in his element when he was making and playing music or repairing computers. He was a computer expert and the “Go To” guy if you needed your computer fixed. Friends were very important to Evan and he had a core group of friends who supported him through thick and thin. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met and loved others. Michelle Coxwell was one of Evan’s high school teachers and served Homewood High School’s 9th through 12th grade teaching Mass Communications. She fondly remembered Evan. In a post she shared on Facebook, Ms. Coxwell stated, “I’ve taught a LOT of students during my teaching career. A lot. But some students just find a way into your heart and you never forget them. When I think about my time at Homewood High, there is ONE name that immediately pops into my mind: EVAN TUBBS! What can I say about Evan? He had it all. Looks. Charm. Personality. Talent. He made me laugh and he made me mad! Today, the world lost a little bit of its light when his went out. Evan, I’ll never forget you. Ever.”
Friends and family are cordially invited to Ridout’s Valley Chapel in Homewood from two o’clock in the afternoon until four o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday, the 22nd of April to truly celebrate Evan’s life, sharing memories and stories that are meaningful to you. The “Reunion” of high school friends will be held in the chapel with Evan’s favorite music playing and pictures displayed.
In lieu of customary remembrances, Evan would have preferred that, if you wish, give to a charity or cause important to you in his honor.
