Elizabeth (Betty) Greene Craig passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Thursday, August 12 in Birmingham, Alabama. Born March 25, 1926, she lead a full life and made her mark on many. She was preceded in death by her husband Milton Brock Craig, Jr., her son Milton Brock Craig, III, and her brother William J. Greene, Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Craig Cantley (Keith), her grandchildren Craig Byram Cantley and Bradley William Cantley (Stacy), her great-granddaughter Brook, and her brother Donald T. Greene. Betty was born in Columbus, Georgia to William J. Greene, Sr., and Elizabeth Elliott Greene. She attended Rollins College where she was member of the Phi Mu sorority. Betty was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday school for many years, and was a Cub Scout den-mother at Avondale Methodist Church. Betty, an austere and faithful person, devoted all of her later-life to caring for and nurturing her children, grandchildren and pets. A graveside service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, August 21, at 11:00 o'clock. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
