Carolyn Virginia Butler

Carolyn Virginia Bailey Butler passed away Wednesday, November 23rd at the age of 78. Virginia was the daughter of Ralph and Carolyn Bailey and the oldest of three daughters. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Joan Steele (Charles) and her husband Beverly G. Butler. Virginia was born in New Merkle (Cahaba Heights) where she lived most of her life. She was a long time member of the Methodist Church and was very active in Sunday School and Circle and served in many capacities in her church. She also served her community in many ways including driving Meals on Wheels which she delivered up until a month before her death. She was adored by everyone that knew her and selfless in her caring, nurturing devotion to her family and many friends.

Virginia is survived by her sister Nancy Horn, her daughters Alice Virginia Butler and Jill Butler Bolen (Rick), her son Brandon G. Butler, step-granddaughters Leela, Angelina and Dolores Presutto and numerous beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral Service is on Sunday, November 27th at Ridout's Valley Chapel, 1800 Oxmoor Road, Homewood. Visitation is from 12pm to 2pm and service at 2pm. Burial to follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, Trussville. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cahaba Heights United Methodist Church or your favorite charity.
