Annie was born in Birmingham on March 5, 2019, on Fat Tuesday, which defined her joyful spirit the two short years she was on this earth. She was the heart and soul of her family and had a smile that was contagious. She loved her siblings, family and friends and exuded joy with everyone she met. Annie enjoyed the delicious comfort foods of life, such as pizza, and could eat half of a family-sized chicken pot pie in one sitting. Like her mother, Annie was a fashionista with an affinity for shoes and made everyone’s closet her own. She loved to jump on the trampoline, swim in the pool, brush her teeth, play in makeup, and embodied all traits of her favorite princess, Elsa. She was a pro on her balance bike, keeping up with big brother Olen, and the rest of the “Gran Clan.” She was adored by the Montgomery home construction crew and considered all of them family.
Annie is survived by her parents Elizabeth Ann and John Montgomery, and siblings John, Maclaine, Julianne, and Olen; grandparents Beth and Charles Herron of Meridian, Mississippi, Janie Montgomery, Helen and Johnny Montgomery, all of Birmingham; aunt Wimberly Debono and cousin Aaron Allaire, aunt and uncle Suzanne and Campbell Helveston, and cousins Patton and Collins, of Oxford, Mississippi; her chosen family Hannah and David “B-Bo” Morris and children Mary Ashlyn, Griffin and Pate, and Hope and Art Cox and children Siena Grace and Cort; classmates in the Mother’s Morning Out program at Our Lady of Sorrows; her beloved neighbors, her owl Hootie, and countless other friends and family in Annie’s village.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Birmingham, Alabama, on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 10:00 am, with visitation beforehand at 9:00 am. An inurnment will immediately follow at the columbarium.
