Ann Emory Robinson Harris was born July 5, 1995 in Birmingham, Alabama. She passed away on October 30, 2016. Ann Emory was a 2014 graduate of Vestavia Hills High School in Vestavia, Alabama. She was a Capstone Scholar at the University of Alabama in the School of Social Work and received the Distinguished Scholar Award in 2015 for being the outstanding student in the School of Social Work. Ann Emory was recently selected as a member of the Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society and she was a member of Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership & Honors Organization. She was a member of Liberty Crossings United Methodist Church and enjoyed participating in mission trips to Nicaragua where she built homes for the homeless. Ann Emory was a wonderful and loving daughter and a loyal sister. She was a compassionate, giving, brave, and selfless friend to many people, and was always an advocate for the less fortunate. Ann Emory sought to end injustice in all forms and was committed to a life of helping others. Her family was proud of her every day.
Ann Emory is survived by her parents George and Jolie Harris; sisters Elizabeth Bennett "Lillie Ben" Harris, Mary Grace "Mollie" Harris, and Tallulah Jane "Janie" Harris; brothers George Bryan Harris, Jr., Maximus Alexander Harris, and Jon Todd Hamilton Harris; and grandparent Beverly Bennett Harris. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Joel Patrick Robinson, Jr. and Ann Hamilton Robinson, Jr. of Jasper, Alabama and Arthur Bryan Harris of Birmingham, Alabama.
Services will be held at Liberty Crossings United Methodist Church in Vestavia, Alabama on Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 2 pm.The family will receive visitors and friends at the church from noon until 2 pm preceding the service. Internment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper, Alabama.
