She was born May 20, 1927 in Ogdensburg, New York, a daughter to the late Basil and Nellie Greenwood Cooper.
Mrs. Thorington worked at Smith-Corona as a Line-worker for a number of years. But, she will be remembered most for her love and devotion that she had for her family, especially her many grandchildren, who knew her affectionately as Ni-Ni
Surviving Ni-Ni is: her husband of over 43 years Richard Thorington, two sons, one daughter, eight grandchildren, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Other then her parents she was pre-deceased by three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday October 24, 2012 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer, with Pastor Archie Smith Chaplain for Cortland County Hospice officiating. Friends are invited to call from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Atwater Cemetery.
